Disco Birthday Cake

Well, you know I'm a perfectionist. So this cake isn't perfect but it was a fun experiment. This was for my aunt's 40th birthday. The "4" is in the shape of bell-bottoms and the "0" is supposed to be a disco ball. My "gray" color got too dark once it set, but I have "silver" edible sprinkles on top to help it shimmer.

Cars and Road Cake

My son doesn't like the "in" stuff this year (like Elmo, Thomas the Train, Diego). Instead he's into "Peter Pan", "101 Dalmations", and "Mary Poppins". Well, I just couldn't find anything to decorate cakes with on these themes...and frankly didn't have enough energy to make something from scratch. SO...I settled for good old cars. He DOES play with hot wheels all day, so this IS appropriate I guess. (Note: The cars are new...not the ones he plays with....I just had to say that)

Jamie made him these road cupcakes.

Bella's Baptism

Look familiar??? Well it's sort of like Gianna's Cake below, but BETTER! (well, I didn't just give birth before this cake) The Cross is 3D again, but the roses have more detail and the sides are decorated.

Squires

This cake is for the Squires at St. John's. They are a group created by the Knights of Columbus for young boys. (J.C. helps lead and mentor them). They are an awesome group of guys and they do lots of services for the community and church, especially for the prolife movement. I'm very proud of them and was happy to make this cake for their yearly celebration. I copied the symbol off of their shirt. You can see the 2 side by side here:

Jamie's Princess Birthday Cupcakes

Jamie had a Princess party, and I was way too busy or tired to manage a decorative cake, but I did make these simple, but pretty cup cakes. I hope she wasn't too disappointed.

Gianna's Baptism

This was Gianna's Baptism cake. I didn't have alot of energy to do it, so I threw it together. But the cross is 3D. The frosting looks funny because it's cream cheese frosting on a cinnamon cake (because we ate it for breakfast).

Friend's Baby Shower

Mom and I threw a Baby Shower for our friend. She is due 6 weeks after me and we are both having girls. This cake turned our beatifully, like I imagined. It was a big hit (I know that's not very humble). It was lots of fun. There is edible glitter on the whole thing too, but it's hard to see in the picture.
