Tinkerbell Birthday Cake

My daughter is going through a Tinkerbell Phase. I took the easy way out last year on her birthday by making simple cupcakes (because I was busy taking care of a newborn and myself), so I told her this year I would put more into it. I found a silhouette of Tinkerbell and then free hand drew it with chocolate icing. I'm not humble enough not to say I'm proud of how it turned out. The cake itself is egg/wheat/dairy/(taste) free because I of her new food sensitivities.

Cupcake Flower

I made this for a friend who came over for dinner on his birthday. The icing for the green lettering was thinner than I wanted so it was hard to write neatly.

Mini Shower Cake

This lady doesn't know if she's having a boy or girl. I had a little fun with that:

MHS Graduation Cake #3

So this is MHS graduation Cake #3...back where I started (see cake #1 here). (And also this one here). I'd say it's my best yet. The cookie hats are the same. But I got the coloring for Maroon down just right this time. Happy 4 Year Anniversary of Cake Decorating for me. The Adventure continues!

Fr. Orosco's Installation

Our Pastor had a reception after his Installation Mass. He requested a cake with the Shield of the Diocese. This was different for me because I figured out how to make a pattern and use it to duplicate the picture I was given.

Disco Birthday Cake

Well, you know I'm a perfectionist. So this cake isn't perfect but it was a fun experiment. This was for my aunt's 40th birthday. The "4" is in the shape of bell-bottoms and the "0" is supposed to be a disco ball. My "gray" color got too dark once it set, but I have "silver" edible sprinkles on top to help it shimmer.

Cars and Road Cake

My son doesn't like the "in" stuff this year (like Elmo, Thomas the Train, Diego). Instead he's into "Peter Pan", "101 Dalmations", and "Mary Poppins". Well, I just couldn't find anything to decorate cakes with on these themes...and frankly didn't have enough energy to make something from scratch. SO...I settled for good old cars. He DOES play with hot wheels all day, so this IS appropriate I guess. (Note: The cars are new...not the ones he plays with....I just had to say that)

Jamie made him these road cupcakes.
