A "Blue" 1st Birthday for a Girl???

Yes.  That's right.  I threw a blue birthday for my baby girl.  She has the most beautiful blue eyes and she looks so lovely in blue.

Tennis Ball Cake

For my daughters 8th birthday she requested a tennis ball. It is a gluten free cake mix so it doesn't rise very well...thus why it's not a perfect sphere. But cool no less! The coloring was from some neon food coloring drops. It was great fun to make.

Roller Coaster Cake

Do I love him, or do I love him? JC (my hubby) has teased me for years about making a roller coaster cake. So I surprised him for his 30th Birthday. I think he imagined something MUCH more elaborate though....but this is what he got. I wasn't feeling great and couldn't wait to get it done, so it's not clean but I'm a perfectionist, so nobody else cares I'm sure. Now he can stop teasing me....or come up with another challenge (which is much more likely to happen).

Over the Hill

For my Uncle Kevin's 50th Birthday, my Aunt asked me to make an over the hill cake. I got this idea by browsing the internet to do the half grass/half dirt with a big "hill" in the center. But I gave it my own little twist with the slide. The Tombstone is made of rice cereal (so my daughter with "cake" allergies could eat it). The rocks are peanut m&ms and walnut pieces. The dirt mixture is cake crumbs and brown sugar (which in hindsight I should have left off all together). The little "Kevin" on the slide is one of my old "Little People" toys from when I was a kid. I used a sharpie to draw the glasses and goatee. This was super fun to make!

Rose Tea Cakes

I made these little rose tea cakes for my daughter's Little Flower's Tea. The symbol for their group is a rose (which represents their patron Saint Therese "The Little Flower"). The cake is colored pink but tastes like white. They are coated with a yummy donut like glaze. I was given a special pan of rose cakes one Christmas and this was the first opportunity I had to use it. I love how the doilies give them an elegant touch.

Graduation Cookie

So this is my first large cookie, made at the request of my sister-in-law. Pretty easy. This graduation head resembles another cake I made for my husband when he got his masters, but this one is made out of rice cereal treat.

1st Communion

My daughter is allergic to Eggs, Wheat, and Milk, so I made her a "Rice Krispie Treat" Cake for her 1st communion.

MHS Graduation Cake #3

So this is MHS graduation Cake #3...back where I started (see cake #1 here). (And also this one here). I'd say it's my best yet. The cookie hats are the same. But I got the coloring for Maroon down just right this time. Happy 4 Year Anniversary of Cake Decorating for me. The Adventure continues!

Bella's Baptism

Look familiar??? Well it's sort of like Gianna's Cake below, but BETTER! (well, I didn't just give birth before this cake) The Cross is 3D again, but the roses have more detail and the sides are decorated.

Gianna's Baptism

This was Gianna's Baptism cake. I didn't have alot of energy to do it, so I threw it together. But the cross is 3D. The frosting looks funny because it's cream cheese frosting on a cinnamon cake (because we ate it for breakfast).

Friend's Baby Shower

Mom and I threw a Baby Shower for our friend. She is due 6 weeks after me and we are both having girls. This cake turned our beatifully, like I imagined. It was a big hit (I know that's not very humble). It was lots of fun. There is edible glitter on the whole thing too, but it's hard to see in the picture.

Happy 1st Birthday John Paul

For my son's first birthday I decided to make a 3-D train cake. I couldn't find the 3-D pan at the store so I made my own with mini loaf pans and twinkies. The track is made out of licorice, the wheels are made out of big & small oreos, & the smoke is made of cotton candy.

Graduation (JC's Head)

I made this cake for J.C.'s graduation. He once joked about me make a cake the shape of his head. Well, I took him seriously. The hat is a big sugar cookie again like Kendra's (at the top of the page) and the tassle was his actual tassle. The cupcakes spelled out "Congratulations J.C."

Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower for my best friend Jessica. She's having a boy named "Brayden" which is written on the left there. This was my first preshaped cake pan cake. It was different. The inside was a bright blue cake.

Graduation Cap

This was for my sister-in-law's graduation. The Large hat was interesting. The base is all cake (cut a bit for the slant effect). The top of the hat is a large sugar cookie. The tassell was her actual tassell. The photo isn't edible. Also, the cupcakes are hershey's kisses with cookies again (just like my very first cake).
One year difference...

Pharmacist Birthday

This was an interesting request. The girl wants to be a pharmacist so they wanted it in the shape of a pill. This cake was fun! My first sale.
