Celebrating the Gift of Life

My cousin celebrated 10 years of gifted life through a heart transplant. I was honored to make the cakes for the wonderful occasion. The bitter sweet story of course begins with the tragedy of one life lost, but in the end another life was saved. It was a day to remember the donor too.

Ordination Anniversary

Our Priest, Father Michael Forge, celebrated the 10th Anniversary of his Ordination. I jumped at the opportunity to make the cake for the party. It's 2 layers of Dark Chocolate Cake with a Turquoise and Chocolate Brown frosting. (I wanted it to be Baby Blue and Chocolate but I put too much coloring...oops!) Still, I think it turned out OK. The number 10 is actually made of House Numbers from the the hardware section, that are dipped in melted chocolate. Very cool! (The picture above is blurry)

WHEW! Then on the same weekend as the wedding cake, I made this Golden Anniversary Cake for my Nana & Pepere. I was a bit more tired when I got to this one. This one only has 9 Roses and again with gold foil leaves. The Cake is Butter Golden with Buttercream Icing. Delicious!

Silver Anniversary

The cake topper was from their original wedding cake. The silver beads aren't edible, but the silver shimmering glitter is.
