For my Uncle Kevin's 50th Birthday, my Aunt asked me to make an over the hill cake. I got this idea by browsing the internet to do the half grass/half dirt with a big "hill" in the center. But I gave it my own little twist with the slide. The Tombstone is made of rice cereal (so my daughter with "cake" allergies could eat it). The rocks are peanut m&ms and walnut pieces. The dirt mixture is cake crumbs and brown sugar (which in hindsight I should have left off all together). The little "Kevin" on the slide is one of my old "Little People" toys from when I was a kid. I used a sharpie to draw the glasses and goatee. This was super fun to make!
Welcome to my cake blog. I've been decorating since 2005. When it comes to cakes, I'm only as limited as my imagination. This is my art. The challenge is to create in icing what I envision in my mind. I hope you have fun browsing through my collection!
